War bows can be anything from 70lbs to 220 pounds draw weight. The best war bow wood is Italian Yew, grown in the Italian alps. Although a soft wood, in these conditions the wood becomes as dense as hardwood. The cream sap wood resists stretching and the darker heart wood resists compression, creating a natural spring.
